The event closes with a live showcase of zero-emission vehicles on the Esplanade at Autoworld — the battery-electric eActros 600, the hydrogen-powered NextGenH2 Truck and the Mercedes-Benz eCitaro with its new NMC4 battery generation. A closer look at each below.

eActros 600

Mercedes-Benz Trucks celebrated the start of series launch of the eActros 600 at the Mercedes-Benz Wörth plant at the end of 2024, and the vehicle has since been in daily operation on roads in more than 15 European countries. The high battery capacity of over 600 kilowatt hours — hence the model designation 600 — and a new, particularly efficient electric drive axle developed in-house enable the eActros 600 to achieve a range of 500 kilometers without intermediate charging.

The eActros 600 has three battery packs, each with 207 kWh. These offer an installed total capacity of 621 kWh. The batteries are based on lithium iron phosphate cell technology (LFP) and are characterized by a long service life. The vehicle is technically designed for a gross combination mass of up to 44 tons. With a standard semitrailer, the eActros 600 has a payload of around 22 tons in the EU. There might be cases in which national law allows higher payloads.

NextGenH2 Truck

Daimler Truck presents the Mercedes-Benz NextGenH2 Truck as part of its hydrogen-powered transport solutions. A small series of 100 trucks is planned to go into customer operations from the end of 2026 onwards. The vehicle is designed for flexible and demanding long-haul transport and has already undergone initial testing under real-world conditions.

The NextGenH2 Truck combines fuel cell technology with liquid hydrogen storage, converting hydrogen into electrical energy to power the electric drive system. Two cellcentric fuel cell systems each deliver 150 kW, providing a combined output of 300 kW, supported by a high-voltage battery with a capacity of around 100 kWh for peak loads and recuperation. The vehicle stores up to 85 kg of liquid hydrogen, enabling ranges of well over 1,000 kilometers, with refueling times of around 10–15 minutes comparable to conventional diesel trucks.

Daimler Buses presents the Mercedes-Benz eCitaro featuring the new NMC4 battery generation and enhanced eMobility services. The fourth-generation battery offers higher capacity, extended range, and a significantly longer service life — even under fast-charging conditions. Flexible battery configurations enable ranges of up to 600 kilometers in urban operation. The vehicle is complemented by digital services from Omniplus On as well as comprehensive charging and infrastructure solutions from Omniplus Charge.

This creates a fully integrated, efficient, and safe eMobility ecosystem from a single source.
